February through April:
This is a great time of year to ski our four world-class ski areas and fish for trophy trout. The weather is warming up and the trout feed well after a long winter. Large rainbow and cutthroat trout are in pre-spawn and fun to spot fish. Midge and Blue Winged Olives provide good dry fly action. The best rivers to fish are the Blue, South Platte, and lower Colorado.

May through June:
Get out your big rigs and don't be intimidated by high water. This is great time to use stronger tippets, leaders and big flies (streamers). Larger trout will feed freely, making them more accessible. The best rivers to fish are tailwater for clear water.

July through September:
Put away your nymphs and get out the dry flies! Prominent hatches of Green Drakes, PMD's, Caddis, Tricos, Baetis and terrestrials provide wonderful dry fly action. The Colorado high country weather is perfect in the 70's and 80's with no humidity. Small mountain creeks provide a true backcountry experience with low crowds. All our rivers will be fishing great during these months.

October through November:
These are the best months to be secluded on our rivers. The weather is still warm, aspen leaves are changing and the brown trout are in pre-spawn. Thrown streamers can produce huge browns up to ten pounds. Blue Winged Olives, Tricos and midges create good dry fly action. Our lower elevation rivers still have "summer" hatches. The water levels are the most consistent at this time of year. Kokanne salmon run up the Blue and South Platte rivers and can be fun on heavy nymphs and streamers. The best rivers to fish are the Williams Fork, Colorado and South Platte.

December through January:
Bundle up and fish on sunny days. The fishing is still productive on our tailwater rivers. Afternoon hatches on sunny days make for good dry fly action with midges. The water levels will be low and clear so stalking is imperative. Light tippets and small flies are a must to fool winter trout. The best rivers to fish are below Dillon Dam on the Blue, the South Platte below Spinney and the Williams Fork.
