We offer year-round guided fly fishing adventures and a full service fly shop in Breckenridge, Colorado. We pride ourselves on providing the best knowledge, guidance and equipment to explore the finest fly fishing in the Rocky Mountains. Our guides are professional, friendly, and knowledgeable and have all attended the Orvis Endorsement School, and are therefore up-to-date on the latest teaching techniques.
Many people recognize Adam because of his boat. He has a beautiful wooden dory; but people rave about Adams knowledge of the Colorado River, rowing ability, and attention to detail when on the river just as much as his boat.
After more than two decades in the corporate world Al never looses his appreciation to be able to share his passion for being on a river with a fly rod surrounded by Colorado’s mountains. His enthusiasm is infectious and a day on the water with Al is nothing short of an incredible time.
Out of Steamboat Springs, FL outdoor enthusiast and adrenaline junkie, Amber first fell in love with offshore, bass and spearfishing as an adolescent in Florida. After leaving the FSU Fish Lab on the Gulf of Mexico, she moved back to Colorado. Naturally she gravitated towards the complexities, skill and art of fly fishing. Whenever off, she’s trying to hunt down her own freshwater Moby Dick and trying to get her friends “hooked” on the sport, too!
Brad has a firm command of the fly-fishing art. As can be noted by the fact that he will be the only guide on the river taking notes on a legal pad of what hatches were happening at what time.
Well she goes by the name, Cameron “Backwoods” Barrie….growing up she was taught to live off the land and has always had an enduring love for all things wild. Cameron works in the shop and guides as well. With her wealth of knowledge in angling she can certainly help put you on fish.
Chip was named Orvis freshwater guide of the year for 2019. He is a wonderful guide and knows most rivers like the back of his hand. He spent numerous years in the Arkansas valley as a raft guide, so his knowledge of reading water is tough to beat. If you see our reviews on Orvis.com, I will let them speak for themselves. Chip is a great guide for young novices all the way up to skilled anglers alike.
Chris is an avid angler and challenges himself to catch a fish everyday during the Spring, Summer, and Fall. Chris works in the shop and guides as well. He has a wealth of knowledge about local waters and gear. Chris is a wonderful teacher for all ages and experience levels of angling.
Darin has been in the county for a long time and he lives to fish. Regardless of if the fish are being cooperative or not Darin always finds a way to put fish on your line.
After serving for 31 years as a Paramedic, Educator, and Assistant Chief of EMS, Darren retired and moved to Colorado with his family to fulfill a life-long dream of becoming a Professional Fly Fishing Guide. His love for fishing began early with his dad, as his dad taught him the art and serenity of being outdoors with a fishing pole in his hand. A summer vacation led Darren to the Rocky Mountains of Colorado where he couldn’t forget the amazing beauty these mountains brought to his passion of fly-fishing. Darren’s personality and natural knack for teaching others make him an excellent angler.
Denny’s nick name is “The Legend”. He is a local ski shop owner and has been in the mountains longer than most of us have been alive. He is sure to teach you that the most important aspect of fishing is your presentation.
Hans is from Upstate New York. He has been fly fishing for almost three years and is very passionate for the sport. He loves getting new and experienced anglers alike on fish. He likes to snowboard and backpack when he isn’t fishing. Hans will help customers select the best gear and flies for a day on the water in our full service fly shop. Jin has been fishing for a long time and has the skill set and personality to guarantee a memorable day. Any day on the water with Jin is sure to be a fun and informative experience.
Keith is known for his infectious personality, entertaining stories, and ability to get all ages-genders-and personalities onto fish. He is the only guide or trout fisherman who will ever be scene pretending to lip a fish.
Colorado born and raised in New Jersey. L.D. has a passion for fly fishing and loves getting people on the water. Whether you are a first time never ever or a world class angler, L.D. is a wealth of knowledge and can teach you anything from the basics to turning you into the next streamer junkie.
Lance has been lucky enough to be in the fishing industry his whole life. At eight years old he had a job cleaning fishing boats so he could go fishing for free. His fishing career has taken him all over the World. He was involved in a fishing program on ESPN, that for 12 years allowed him to fish the globe. From Tiger fishing in Africa, Peacock Bass in the Amazon, big-game fishing in the oceans of the world. Lance has been a Captain and fishing guide for 47 years.
Lyle grew up farming and herding sheep in Farmington NM. During his free time, this is where he began his journey of learning how to catch fish on the fly, on the San Juan River. After moving to Colorado Springs, and being discharged from the military, he volunteered helping veterans in PHWFF… In helping veterans, he found out he enjoyed the time to take out, teach, and mentor anyone on the river. During the winter months, you can find Lyle on the slopes, teaching others how to snowboard. If not snowboarding, you can catch him fly fishing on the snow pack banked rivers.
Growing up in Durango, Colorado, Mac developed a passion for fly fishing at a young age. He is a patient and easy going guide and loves to play a part in getting newcomers “hooked” on fly fishing. He has spent a number of years learning the ins & outs of his home waters around Colorado and the Four Corners.
Early in life Mark got the fishing “bug” and has developed a strong passion for the sport. Mark grew up fishing the fabled waters of Northern Michigan’s AuSable river and Piere Marquete (PM). Fly fishing for over 30 years has brought Mark great joy and serenity and he is excited to share with you the peace and enjoyment that fly fishing can bring. It’s a great day when hooking up with a trout which makes for a truly a wonderful experience. Mark will gladly work with you and make sure that your day is full and rewarding.
Born and raised in Idaho, Megan has always enjoyed being out on the river. When she caught her first fish, she was hooked. Megan has spent most of her adult life in outdoor education teaching biking, backpacking, skiing, and fishing. She’s excited to get people out on the water and to share her passion.
Ned has been a part of Breckenridge Outfitters as a manager, guide, and previous owner. The amount of knowledge on local and worldwide waters Ned has is astounding. He is a very fun guide in and out of the fly shop and an excellent teacher. When you are on the water with Ned for the day you are sure to have a top notch experience.
As a life-long fly fisherman, experienced whitewater guide, and professional ski instructor Pete combines his talents to share his love of Colorado’s rivers with you. Whether walking/wading, or floating the Colorado in his custom drift boat, Beluga connects his guests to the history, beauty and splendor of our mountain playground.
Sam is a Colorado grown angler who has spend most of his fishing time floating the Colorado River. After graduating high school in Parker, CO, Sam began attending The University of Tampa to study Marine Science with a focus on hammerhead shark biology, and has expanded his fly fishing knowledge in the saltwater environment. On his breaks, Sam returns home to fish Colorado waters and work in the fly shop.
A passionate fly fisher, Sarah has been guiding and teaching fly fishing for fifteen years. For most of those years she has run a Women’s Learn How to Fly Fish School, introducing hundreds of women to fly fishing. She also started a program in Summit County introducing kids to fish, served for many years as the president of the local Trout Unlimited Chapter, and was an original stakeholder in the restoration of the Swan River in Breckenridge. An avid boater, she also explores the rivers of Colorado, Montana, and Wyoming either in her drift boat or raft. A world traveler, Sarah has fished internationally in Kamchatka, Russia, Belize, and Patagonia.
Growing up in Connecticut and having lived in Breckenridge for the past decade, Soren has an undeniable love for the outdoors and all things Colorado. His background as a snowboard instructor has made him a wonderful teacher for all ages and abilities, and translates to his passion for fly fishing. His understanding of where the fish are, what they are eating, and knowledge of Colorado history ensures a fun filled day on the water.
Tim is the owner of Breckenridge Outfitters and guides when he can break away from the shop. Tim enjoys introducing folks to fly fishing and sharing any information he can with clients and fellow anglers alike. A day on the water with Tim is never anything short of a good time.
Tom approaches life with the right attitude. After or before trips he can often be found lounging in the shop Lazy-Boys chatting with guests. On the river he makes sure everything is enjoyable and all anglers are catching fish.
Born in New Jersey and raised in Southern California, he spent all of his free time fly fishing in the Southern and Eastern Sierra. He moved to Colorado in 2006. He can be found chasing trout all Summer and powder stashes all Winter. He enjoys every minute with fly anglers of all experience levels and never tires of the beaming smile on the face of clients.
TR loves to fish and tie flies. Trust us, before you ask him a question about tying flies make sure you are ready for a thorough response! Everyone that fishes with TR returns with a smile on their face.
Colorado Raised, Trevor is a great source of local knowledge. From Back-country to Brews and fly selection too, there’s no such thing as a silly question. Trevor has been a raft guide, snowmobile guide, and fishing guide. You can say Trevor is just an all-around Colorado guide.
Tyson was born and raised in South Mississippi where he grew up fishing for bass, bream, and catfish. He developed a love for fly fishing after moving to Arkansas in 2008, spending lots of time fishing the White River System. Relocating to Breckenridge to finish college and fish more only cemented his love for all things fly fishing. In his spare time he enjoys skiing, duck hunting, riding motorcycles, and hanging out (and fishing) with his wife and daughter.
Vance is NW born and raised. He was introduced to fishing at a young, but really took to fly fishing in his 20’s and he hasn’t looked back. Vance is a wealth of knowledge from Single hand techniques and switch and spey. He enjoys sharing his knowledge with new fly fisherman and experienced anglers alike.
