WHAT TO EXPECT
When the rivers are blown out by snowmelt or it's a hot summer afternoon and the trout are deep, the high lakes are still fishing. Your guide will call to discuss lake options and details and arrange the meeting spot, and you spend a full day in a dory or raft on the day's lake. Stillwater fishing has a different rhythm: longer drifts, slower retrieves, often subsurface. The fish are different too: bigger on average, harder to land, and more likely to take a streamer. A great change of pace from river days.
